By the job

Typing and charting

For nurses at the charts, dispatchers, estimators and office staff.

A keyboard day pulls the neck forward and tightens the shoulders, forearms and hands. This is the short session: half an hour on the neck, shoulders, forearms and hands, seated or face down, at the pressure you choose.

  • Neck, shoulders and hands, 30 minutes

  • A longer session adds the back

  • Either therapist; Dixie takes most keyboard days

What happens

In the room

  1. 01

Step 1: We ask about your desk

How long you type, which hand does the mouse and where you feel the day.

  2. 02

Step 2: Seated or face down

Whichever is easier. A sheet over you, with only the part we are working on uncovered.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Neck and shoulders

Steady work from the base of the skull to the shoulder blades.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Forearms and hands

The forearms and the hands last, then a minute to sit up.

Good to know

Pressure, cover and what to wear

  • Pressure

A short session goes quickly. Tell us right away which part you want the most time on.

  • Covered

You are under a sheet or towel the whole time. Only the part we are working on is uncovered.

  • What to wear

Come as you are. A thin shirt is fine for a seated session, or take it off and lie face down under a sheet.

  • Ask your doctor first

If you are pregnant, or have had surgery or an injury lately, ask your doctor before you book.

    Owner and licensed massage therapist

    • Massage therapist license · TN Lic. 000000

Dixie opened the studio above the hardware store so people who work with their hands and feet could book a session before a shift or after one. She takes first-time clients, the long days on hard floors and the days at a keyboard. Her pressure is steady, and she asks before she changes it. She speaks English.

Questions about this session

Can I book this on a lunch break?

Yes. Thirty minutes fits most breaks, with a minute at the end to sit up slowly. Book the 30-minute session and arrive a few minutes early.

Is this seated or on the table?

Either. Tell us which you prefer when you book or when you arrive.

Which therapist should I book?

Either. Dixie takes most keyboard days, and Donnie is happy to work firmer.

Book neck.
